GreenWeek Satellite 2011 Satellite event

As member of the Euracsis Network we were charged to prepare and produce the Budapest event of the Green Week 2011 international conference series. In co-operation with the Hungarian team of CEEweb and enjoying efficient help of the European Comission and the Comission's Hungarian representation we managed to execute a succesful conference on 17, May in Europe Point, Budapest.

The Green Week conference in 2011 focused on the theme "Resource efficiency - Using less, living better". In order to reach out beyond Brussels, satellite events were organised in cities around Europe, where stakeholders from Member States can get more involved. Participants from government, business and industry, nongovernmental organisations and academia came together for debate and exchanges of experience and best practice.

At the event knowledgeable experts from different sectors revealed the policy context of increasing resource efficiency, challenges and opportunities of implementation and the need and possible alternatives for limiting resource use. Panel discussion followed the presentations.
